D-Chase
D-Chase is a new kind of artist; not restricted to any one genre of music, and equally adept at singing as he is with rapping. Born in Canada, and raised in Florida, Chase’s has always has a different set of ears for music. Not being exposed to Hip Hop until late in his teenage years, his first influences were Rock music. Learning to playing guitar at an early age enabled him to begin producing rock music for local bands, and when he first heard Hip Hop, he was able to adapt, but with his own unique flavor. Currently signed to DAO Music Group, look for D-Chase’s hit single “Falling Forward” to release on iTunes

“New Moon” Soundtrack Goes Indie

new moon movieThe Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the second film in the “Twilight” series, uses indie rock for the sound of sad vampires. The 15-song soundtrack has plenty of gentle-voiced indie acts, including the Brooklyn bands Grizzly Bear and Hurricane Bells; the Swedish singer Lykke Li; Sea Wolf, a group from Los Angeles; and a collaboration between Bon Iver and St. Vincent.

Death Cab for Cutie Tickets – Opening a New Door

Commercializing as much as they can after their first commercially successful album Narrow Stairs, indie alt rockers Death Cab for Cutie
are releasing an EP that is essentially an extension of the May 2008 album – “when we finished Narrow Stairs there were four extra songs that, because we were trying to put together an album, we ended up not including – it’s not like they’re castoffs or anything; they’re part of the Narrow Stairs experience. They need to have a proper home, and the EP is it,” Nick Harmer said to MTV. Now the four newest tracks, as well as a demo of the fifth Narrow Stairs track “Talking Bird,” has found a proper home in The Open Door, the EP set for release in the beginning of April. The guys are supporting their latest critically acclaimed set with a healthy gobbling of spring and summer tour dates, where the EP can first be purchased before hitting stores mid-April, so make sure to pick up some Death Cab for Cutie tickets via the web’s best and always friendly to hear the set!

The guys are hitting the Hollywood circuit this time around (their sixth to be exact) as they release their latest music video via MTV. The single “Grapevine Fires,” has the guys “animated” about the latest from Narrow Stairs; “I’m a huge comic book fan, so there was that,” bassist Harmer continued with MTV. “Plus, in my head, I couldn’t see any kind of live-action video that wouldn’t come off as heavy-handed or overwrought. So we knew what we didn’t want it to be. Plus, we knew we should do a cameo, which meant we’d get to be animated, so that was a bonus.” With the onset of the popularity of Narrow Stairs and their latest EP, the guys have added several more summer dates to their already extensive tour, bringing along Ra Ra Riot, Tegan and Sara, Andrew Bird and the New Pornographers in an intermixing ceremony that will also see the guys appearing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl July 5th.

Her Name is Green Tea

Green Tea myspace page

Green Tea:
A person once asked me, “How long have you been singing?” Truthfully, I     don’t remember there ever being a time when I haven’t been singing.  I know that seems strange to some…but it’s true.  My mother told me that while she was carrying me, that her stomach would dance energetically at the sound of music. So I’d say I’ve been singing since I was created.  And my friends will tell you….they usually hear me before they see me (lol).

Many people have heard the sultry and soulful filled voice of artist, Green Tea, and there seems to be an overwhelming consensus that when she opens her mouth that her delivery of whatever song, be it original or another’s artist’s work, is simply “heartfelt.” After which, comes the surge of questions:  Do you have a CD? When are you going to release your album? When’s the next time you are going to sing? These questions often catches Green Tea off guard.  After all, she is doing only what she has been doing since she was a little girl, loving music. So, she takes the inquiries from the people and uses them as fuel to drive her music.

At a very young age, Green Tea began singing in the church and it was through these experiences that God revealed to her that music was a powerful venue to reach diverse multitudes of people. This revelation is the principle of Green Tea’s purpose: To share with the world that music is a powerful instrument that can speak life or death to a person’s situation.

Green Tea:
I guess above all I want people to know and understand how powerful music is….it sets the tone for so many emotions…for love, happiness, anger, dreaming…With my music, I focus on setting the tone for growth, power, and love…I want people to receive God’s gift to them….the gift of life (I mean to really live)….and His gift of Love…I want people to realize that’s it’s a choice to learn about yourself and about life…I don’t want people to continue to make poor choices…Music has the power to break the cycle of an impoverished mindset…

Green Tea’s goal is to speak life and empowerment to individuals. She uses the caveat of life’s experiences to speak to the hearts and minds of people, while conveying the deepest emotion with messages of self-love, the power of choices, love, learning, and challenging oneself to do better. She encourages people to stop allowing life’s experiences to consume them, but learn from every lesson in life so that it will not be repeated.

Green Tea:
I’m appreciative that God has blessed me with such an awesome gift….Please believe, I don’t take it lightly…but with it comes great responsibility…so when I get the opportunity to grace a stage…or any venue…it’s serious business…not just something to do…it’s my purpose to speak healing, life, and love  to the people.

Many people are intrigued by the name Green Tea so I must shed some light on it.  Green is my favorite color, it symbolizes: growth, energy, power, love, a palm tree that may bend but will never break. Tea is a healing regiment that is soothing, calming, stress-relieving, healing…it’s good in the summer and the winter symbolizing all the changes in  life.  So together, I am a soothing and healing regiment promoting growth, calmness, change…a potent remedy for the issues of life…of your soul– your mind, will, and emotions.

PYRO

Pyro was born and raised in South East London. His interest in music reflected the environment he grew up in with a multi-cultural diet of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, hip hop and learning to play the guitar at a very early age

When I was about 14 I got into happy hardcore which progressed to garage where I got into MCing and this led to jungle/drum & bass.

He started MCing on a regular basis in 1997, listening to old school garage music and radio MCs. A steady succession of low key raves , house parties, internet radio and pirate radio quickly followed. His attention moved to drum and bass with his favourites being a duo called Skibadee and Shabba.
Drum and bass has been the biggest influence especially the MC’s and the whole vibe of the scene in South East London.

At the end of 1999 whilst still at school Pyro started writing lyrics to drum and bass and regularly MCs on Internet Radio Worldwide FM and performing at live jams with a drummer and bass player.

As well as writing his lyrics and being an adept guitarist Pyro plays, programmes and produces all his songs at home. Still only 23 theres a witty gritty reality in his lyrics thats sure to generate a lot of interest.

Pyro is currently gigging with his amazing band. Check www.pyrouk.com to hear more of pyro’s tracks and see his new video UNCLE PYRO.
