D-Chase is a new kind of artist; not restricted to any one genre of music, and equally adept at singing as he is with rapping. Born in Canada, and raised in Florida, Chase’s has always has a different set of ears for music. Not being exposed to Hip Hop until late in his teenage years, his first influences were Rock music. Eminem Tickets – Two Eminem Albums to Arrive in 2009

Eminem’s comeback album Relapse has been rumored for release for a long time now, but with his new single “Crack a Bottle” on the singles charts it finally has a May 19th arrival date. Interscope will then follow up with Relapse 2 in the second half of 2009. In recent press release Em said, “A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year. I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre.

Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all the best stuff.” Relapse is Em’s first album since 2004’s Encore and 2005’s greatest hits compilation Curtain Call. The MC did release an autobiography, aptly titled The Way I Am, in October 2008, around the same time that he confirmed his impending album. “Crack a Bottle” leaked without Em’s permission and soared to the number one spot on the Billboard charts last month, breaking digital records, even though he was angered at its premature arrival. Born Marshall Mathers (although he also goes by Eminem, Em and his alias Slim Shady,) Eminem emerged as Dr. Dre’s protege in the early years of the new millennium, although he had been rapping for a long time before then. The St. Joseph, MO native spent his childhood shuttled between Detroit and his Kansas City suburb and first began rapping when he was 14, eventually becoming a battle rapper as a way to prove his talent as a white minority among the black majority in the hip-hop community. After releasing his first single in 1995 with Soul Intent, Eminem formed D-12 with rapper Proof and a few other friends, although he soon put his rap career on hold in order to care for his new family.

His 1996 album Infinite failed to gain the response he was looking for, but he forged on and soon created alter ego Slim Shady as a way to say things that he wasn’t able to as himself. After attempting suicide the following year, an event spurned by his wife leaving him and taking their daughter away, leading him to move in with his mother and start abusing alcohol and drugs, Eminem released the scathing Slim Shady EP as a means to escape his miserable life.

According to myth, Dr. Dre discovered the EP on the floor of Interscope label chief Jimmy Iovine’s garage, although Iovine really approached the rapper after hearing him at a battle in L.A. Then Dr. Dre heard the demo and the pair began recording “My Name Is” within an hour after meeting (once the shock of Em’s skin color wore off that is.) After releasing the “Just Don’t Give a F***” single with Dre and marrying his formerly estranged girlfriend, Eminem was signed to Interscope and released the Slim Shady LP in 1999.

“My Name Is” was an instant hit and subsequent single “Guilty Conscience” followed suit, with the album eventually achieving triple platinum status. Em appeared on Dre’s 2001 before releasing his sophomore album The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. The record secured even more success and controversy for the rapper, with songs like “Kill You” and “Kim” causing quite a stir for their violent and homophobic lyrics. The Marshall Mathers LP garnered several Grammy nods while also ending his marriage, and Em took the stage with Elton John during the awards show as a way to silence his critics.

D-12 reformed in 2001 and released an album, subsequently touring throughout the summer. After taping a film loosely based on his life called 8 Mile, Em reappeared in 2002 with the singles “Without Me” and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” followed by his third album The Eminem Show. While the MC attacked Moby, Limp Bizkit and others on The Eminem Show, he targeted politicians (”Mosh”) and Michael Jackson (”Just Lose It”) on his 2004 album Encore. Rumors of a looming retirement and other issues plagued Em’s tour in support of Encore, and he eventually entered rehab in 2004 (an event which he parodied in the 2005 music video for “When I’m Gone”).

After the greatest-hits effort Curtain Call: The Hits surfaced, Eminem endured a rough 2006, with another marriage and divorce to his on-again-off-again love Kim and the death of D-12 member Proof. Although he did produce Obie Thrice’s Second Round’s on Me and appeared on Akon’s hit single “Smack That,” the rapper has been surprisingly quiet recently, but that is all about to change with the upcoming release of relapse.
